Fresh off of a big Thanksgiving Showdown win over Philadelphia, the Penguins are set to face the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday. It makes the third meeting between the teams in the last two weeks and marks the final time they'll face the Leafs this year in the regular season. The series is currently tied at 1-1 so the winner of this game takes the season set.

The Pens are also attempting to extend their current win streak to six games, lengthening their longest-winning spell of the year. They've gone 7-2-1 overall in their last 10 beyond this, only losing twice in regulation in that time. They're settling into a comfortable rhythm of play which is showing not just in that record but in performance metrics.

Pittsburgh's penalty kill has jumped up to 80.6% efficiency. The eleventh-best PK in the league. Likewise, they remain hot in the faceoff circle as the tenth-best team. And are still high in goals for per game at sixth best in the NHL. Individually numerous Penguins are hitting personal best performance markers from the top forwards to the depth players as the fourth line of Ryan Poehling, Teddy Blueger, and Josh Archibald did the heavy lifting in Philadelphia producing seven points and three out of the four goals.

Goalie Tristan Jarry has also quietly remediated his spotty record from just weeks ago. He's managed to improve his to 8-3-2. Casey DeSmith will now get his chance to work on rehabbing his season stats tonight as he gets the start on the second half of this back-to-back game scenario.

The Pens and Leafs game will be broadcast on NHL Network nationally in the US and on Hockey Night In Canada in Canada so both countries will be able to tune into this one beyond the local TV markets. Now on to the game info.
